Afterfade collects the color and ambient sound of your day and turns them into music, entirely on your device. If something isn't working the way you expect, this page should cover it. If it doesn't, please email us — we read everything.

Frequently Asked Questions

The REC button doesn't do anything.

A track needs seven fragments. Until you've captured all seven, REC stays inactive. The counter on the main screen shows how many you have so far.

Where did my 5-second clip go?

Clips stay on your device. They're used to extract color and sound, and to build the short film that comes with each finished track. They are never uploaded to a server.

Do I need an internet connection?

The music is composed entirely on your device, so capturing and generating work without a connection. The app does connect to the internet to load ads.

The camera or microphone won't turn on.

Afterfade needs permission for both. Open the Settings app, find Afterfade, and make sure Camera and Microphone are enabled. Without microphone access, the app can't collect the ambient sound a track is built from.

I tapped "Ask App Not to Track." Can I still use the app?

Yes. Every feature works exactly the same. That choice only affects how ads are personalized.

How do I keep a track or a film?

Open the finished track from your shelf and use the save or share option. Tracks and films can be saved to your photo library or sent to any app.

Can I get rid of the ads?

Not at the moment. There's no paid option in this version.

Will my tracks survive if I delete the app?

No. Everything is stored only on your device, so deleting Afterfade removes your fragments and finished tracks for good. If a track matters to you, save it out to your photo library.

RECボタンが反応しません

1曲つくるには、かけらが7つ必要です。7つ揃うまでRECは押せません。あといくつ必要かは、メイン画面のカウンターで確認できます。

撮った5秒はどこにありますか

クリップは端末の中に残ります。色と音を採集するためと、曲と一緒に生まれるショートフィルムをつくるために使われます。外部のサーバーに送信されることはありません。

ネット接続は必要ですか

曲づくりはすべて端末の中で完結するため、撮影も曲の生成も接続なしで動きます。ただし広告の読み込みには通信を使用します。

カメラやマイクが起動しません

Afterfadeはカメラとマイクの両方の許可が必要です。「設定」アプリからAfterfadeを開き、カメラとマイクが有効になっているか確認してください。マイクの許可がないと、曲の材料になる環境音を採集できません。

「アプリにトラッキングしないように要求」を選びましたが、使えますか

使えます。機能はすべて同じように動きます。この選択は広告のパーソナライズにのみ影響します。

曲やフィルムを手元に残すには

棚から完成した曲を開き、保存または共有の操作を行ってください。写真アプリへの保存や、他のアプリへの送信ができます。

広告を消せますか

現在のバージョンでは、広告を非表示にする有料オプションはありません。

アプリを削除したら曲は残りますか

残りません。すべて端末の中にだけ保存されているため、Afterfadeを削除するとかけらも完成した曲も元に戻せません。大切な曲は、写真アプリへ書き出しておいてください。
